Frequently Asked Questions

What problem is First52 designed to solve?
First52 addresses a critical gap in marriage formation: many Christian couples enter marriage with sincere faith and deep commitment but do not go on to establish Christian practices that sustain intimacy, spiritual unity, and resilience over time.
First52 supports couples as two whole persons grow closer to Christ and to one another through 52 weeks of prayer, Scripture, honest conversation, forgiveness, and mutual care. By establishing these habits early, First52 helps couples build a marriage capable of enduring hardship and flourishing across generations.
What exactly will my donation make possible?
Your donation helps couples participate in a full year of Christian marriage formation through daily Scripture, weekly practice-based lessons, marriage mentoring, and a supportive online community. It also enables First52 to develop new resources, expand access to more couples, and equip churches and mentors to help marriages flourish.
Do couples participate for free?
Couples do not pay for daily Bible verses, weekly Christian Practice lessons to be delivered, the online community, or the app.
How do you know First52 strengthens marriages?
First52 is built around practices consistently associated with strong marriages: shared faith, honest communication, forgiveness, mutual support, and intentional time together. Biblical and evidence-based practices, feedback from participating couples and Marriage Mentors indicates that these practices deepen connection and spiritual unity, while ongoing evaluation will track participation, relationship growth, and long-term outcomes.
What makes First52 different from other marriage ministries?
First52 is not a short course or a crisis intervention. Nor is it a short course of pre-marital counseling. It is a yearlong, practice-based process that helps couples build a marriage: two whole persons growing closer to Christ and one another through daily Scripture, weekly practices, mentoring, and community. Rather than waiting for problems to emerge, First52 helps couples establish the habits that sustain a flourishing marriage from the beginning.
How does First52 use donations?
First52 uses donation dollars to develop biblically grounded marriage lessons, discover the most effective ways to communicate them to younger generations, and create innovative reminders that help couples put Christian practices into action. Gifts also support mentoring, digital resources, technology, and the online community that reinforce these practices throughout the year.
Is my gift tax-deductible, and will I receive a receipt?
